Petitions

Petitions are an important way to enact change. They serve to inform the public while simultaneously garnering support. That said, they require a good amount of effort in outreach (but then again, what kind of social change doesn't?). The important thing to remember with petitions is that they must explain the problem, discuss a solution, and be directed to someone who is in a position to affect the necessary changes. The amount of signatures necessary depends on the topic: who is affected, and what percentage of those affected care enough to speak up about wanting change?

Below you'll find templates to use for your own petitions in your local area. From helping petition your municipality to bring in community composting and gardens to asking your college to divest from oil, please use these and any other resources on our site to help you be a hero!
